Nangai Oil, Your Skin's New BFF!
Updated: Feb 17
If you have never heard of Nangai Oil, there's a good reason. It's a fairly well-kept secret of the French Polynesian Islands, including Fiji, Vanuatu, and Samoa.
First, let me ask you this: How would you like to reduce signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles, to reveal plumper, smoother skin for a radiant, youthful appearance with the purest form of natural moisture-retention ingredients? Yes? Keep reading!
Nangai Oil is rich in healing and emollient properties. It does not require any chemical process to extract it, unlike coconut or other oils. It’s extracted from the Canarium Indicum tree nuts, also known as Canarium nut, using a cold-press method.
So, what is nangai oil used for? Its main applications are in treating skin conditions, such as eczema and psoriasis, or for reducing the pain and inflammation associated with arthritis. It is also used in cosmetics, although very few companies currently use it.
SeneGence is one of the lucky few companies that have access to this liquid gold, and they take advantage of that fact by adding it to almost all of their skincare and cosmetics. This really sets them apart when it comes to makeup actually being GOOD for your skin. Even their foundation can improve your skin as you wear it!
In its native environment, Nagai oil is used daily. Here is just a few things that they use it for!
Alleviating arthritis pain
Preventing infections
Treating acne
Treating psoriasis
Treating eczema
As an active ingredient in healing salves
Nourishing the skin
I have a friend from Vanuatu and one day while I was doing her makeup she told me stories about when she was young and would get a rash or irritation on her skin, so her mom and grandma would use nangai oil, and the irritation would be gone by the next morning!
So that's what it's commonly used for, let's talk a bit more about the cosmetic applications of nangai oil!
As far as face oils go, I truly believe you won't find a better one out there! With its anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties, it truly is liquid gold when it comes to nourishing your skin.
Nangai oil will absorb into your skin incredibly fast, leaving a silky matte finish with zero oily residues. P.S. it also smells incredible!
It is one of the best natural emollients out there, with one of the highest levels of triglycerides working to retain moisture and condition your skin.
This means that it can hold moisture in your skin, while minimizing inflammation, and is non-comedogenic, so it won't clog your pores in the process!
In fact, when it comes to the Comedogenic scale, nangai rates as a 0 on a scale of 1-5, while coconut oil rates at a 4!
Bottom line, If you are looking to reduce signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles, to reveal plumper, smoother skin for a radiant, youthful appearance with the purest form of natural moisture-retention ingredients, you can't get better than nangai oil.
I even add a drop to my night cream or tinted moisturizer to bump up the hydration. SeneGence already adds nangai to those products, but it does feel extra luxurious when I add an extra drop!
SeneGence Nangai oil is $66 for 15ml. You only need a drop or 2 when you use it, it is very rich and spreads far!
